I would just like to say, the American government is growing stupider by the minute and Bush should have never been allowed to graduate Elementary school. This new International Marriage Broker law is not only ridicilous but the idiots are not even implementing it correctly. As you may know my bf is in Israel, we have filed a k-1 visa petition and all is going smoothly until yesterday....3 days before the final interview....at which they issue the visa at the USA Embassy abroad, he receives a phone call: "Interview cancelled, due to some new law, which requires additional background checks to be made" I dont think the woman on the phone even knows what the law was.

I am pissed as hell because the law should not even apply to me, since it clearly applies to "gentlemen" US citizens, Bloody MURDER!!! Can't these people administer the law correctly? Meanwhile all petitions approved after march 6th are subject to the new law....Mine was approved March 8th, so I may be screwed to wait indefinetly now. But what is driving me crazy is the law applies to couples meeting only through Marriage brokers ( ex.mail-order brides) and it applies to MALE US citizens. All this because there were 2 foreign women killed by their American abusive husbands. TWO!!! and they state that the statistics in reality do not even closely resemble the amount of HAPPY international marriages.In fact Congerss did not even bother to hear testimony or view the statistics,they were in a rush to go on Holiday break....go figure |
