the past leaves me with a present
that presents itself smothered in all
gray shades composed of mostly black
ribbons that run off without saying
anything
some things are meant to be a darker
shade of white while this won't fade
while left here to dry amongst
the echos of birds that are long gone
to places filled with summer
and tomorrow
this sorrow will not stay forever
they say
but they've never said anything
that turned out to be true
and i used to think that purple
was in love with pink until i
really felt blue

and as it all became gray
i no longer feel anything.
