On another thought - grid-layout of cities (Manhattan, for example. Main ingredient = city blocks) is very convenient. It's also very boring. Imagine how much more interesting it is to not walk along straight lines, but instead making complicated curves and actually having to think of walking while .. walking =) Hopefully I'll remember to get back to this idea and maybe sketch a map of a proposed neighbourhood layout.
