| i just got back my sanity while i was away from this place we like to call "united". after a somewhat hazy time in amsterdam i visited barcelona where goudi sang to me (personally, of coarse) along with millions of others... his architecture does not have a metaphor...it is one of a kind...paris is what really did me in...it is perhaps the most beautiful place ever created by man kind (and, according to me, nature as well). notre dame is full of voices. even, perhaps, victor hugo’s. it was no small step for mankind, and definitely no small step for me to walk up those winding stairs all the way to the top where i saw the entire face of paris. the louvre is bigger then anything you can ever imagine (unless of coarse you have been to hermitage in petersburg...) napoleon's tomb is one of the most beautiful monuments i have ever seen...and the bridges in paris are simply too magical for words...it is no wonder to me, anymore, why so much of russian culture was purposefully based on that of the french... |
